POSITION OVERVIEW
Provide and implement appropriate, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to improve patients’ functional abilities and participation in daily activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy services tailored to patients’ functional levels and severity of impairments.
  • Fabricate thermoplastic splints in collaboration with other rehabilitation professionals.
  • Ensure quality control of assistive devices as required by patients.
  • Maintain occupational therapy equipment by coordinating regular servicing with the Maintenance Team.
  • Advise on home and workplace modifications, including accessibility adjustments, in line with patients’ needs and capabilities.
  • Provide on-the-job training in pediatric rehabilitation for colleagues, students, and volunteers.
  • Contribute to the development and updating of condition-specific rehabilitation protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and educate caregivers/families on patient progress.
  • Prepare monthly service reports, including patient statistics and identified challenges.
  • Promote a multidisciplinary approach by collaborating with doctors, physiotherapists, social workers, prosthetics and orthotics teams, and patients’ families/caregivers.
  • Participate in focus group discussions with patients and caregivers.
  • Report all incidents and accidents to the Rehabilitation Services Manager and complete required documentation.
  • Implement hospital policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and guidelines.
  • Participate in departmental research activities.
  • Take part in ward rounds to communicate treatment plans and support holistic, patient-centered care.
  • Represent the hospital in rehabilitation-related activities when required.
