Role purpose: 

The role involves supporting the overall delivery of MPESA Marketing and communication initiatives by contributing to communication campaigns, brand initiatives, staff campaigns as well as liaison with agencies and suppliers of various marketing collateral material. The MPESA Marketing Communication and Brand Assistant is working on daily basis with the MPESA Communication Manager.

 



Responsibilities

Role description: 

 

1. Brand 

 

  • Contribute to MPESA brand positioning under a new identity that resonates with Ethiopian consumers.

  • Coordinate brand activities

 

2. Communication campaigns

 

  • Contribute to analysis of industry and competitor communications as well as benchmarking in other industries to stay abreast of issues.
  • Participate to the development of all above the line and below the line media executions in conjunction with the agency

  • Work with all the project aspects as briefed and on track with timelines.

  • Ensure that media communication is aligned to brand communication as well as overall strategy.

3. Staff communication

  • Help on defining communication campaigns addressed to staff

  • Contribute to the strategy for staff education and coordinate with PR team

 

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

 

  • Work in collaboration with product, customer support, partnerships and technology teams to ensure product features align with market needs , deliver a superior customer experience and are perceived as such

  • Provide insights from market research and customer feedback to influence product design and feature prioritization.

 

Key performance indicators:

 

  • Successful MPESA 360 Communication campaigns 

  • Increased staff awareness, appreciation and usage of MPESA

  • MPESA NPS

  • Increased Fintech Communications expertise

 



Qualifications

 

  • A degree in a business related field. 
  • Minimum 1-2  years in a marketing  related function 
  • Ability to develop external partnerships and form strategic alliances 
  • Attention to detail with excellent interpersonal and communications skills
