Its goal is to help countries build, protect and use human capital: the health, knowledge and skills people build over their lives. It supports integrated, cross-sectoral solutions that invest in people across the lifecycle, strengthen service delivery and prepare people for more and better jobs. Quality infrastructure, such as safe, accessible and climate-resilient schools and training facilities, is a key foundation for delivering these services and outcomes.
Education Global Practice
Within the People Vertical, the Education Global Practice helps countries strengthen education systems, improve learning outcomes, and expand equitable access to quality education and skills. In Eastern and Southern Africa, the Practice manages a large and diverse portfolio. A growing share of it goes into building, rehabilitating, upgrading and equipping schools, classrooms, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions, and related facilities.
